Make the most of your visit to the Nature Reserve and call into Clara Bog Visitor Centre, located in Clara town.

By train: Our Visitor Centre is 5 minutes walk from Clara train station. See irishrail.ie for up to date timetables.

By bus: 840 Banagher to Tullamore.

By car: We are located just 10 minutes off Exit 6 on the M6 motorway. We are also just 10 minutes from Kilbeggan, Tullamore and Athlone. Our Visitor Centre has free car parking, with bus parking available on request. Please note that the car park at the centre closes at 5pm Mon – Friday.

Clara Bog Nature Reserve and Boardwalk is located 1.5 km from the Visitor Centre, on the Clara – Rahan Road. The Nature Reserve can be reached by car or by foot from the Visitor Centre. There is limited parking available at the main boardwalk entrance.

The boardwalk and trails on Clara Bog Nature Reserve are open to the public at all times, unless otherwise stated. See opening times for Clara Bog Visitor Centre below. Admission to the Visitor Centre and Nature Reserve is free of charge. We ask that groups book ahead of time. Educational visits offered to school groups and special interest groups.
